San Andrés is the capital city of the department of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina. This area is also known as The Raizal Islands. San Andrés is part of Colombia and had about 55,426 people living there in 2005.

San Andrés is located at the northern tip of San Andrés Island. It sits right on the beautiful Caribbean Sea. The city is split into two main parts by the runway of Gustavo Rojas Pinilla International Airport.
