The Sanctuary of Saint Rose of Lima (which in Spanish is called Santuario de Santa Rosa de Lima) is a special religious place. A Special Home for a Saint
This sanctuary is located where Saint Rose of Lima's house once stood. It includes parts of her original home, like the well her family used. This well is a very important and popular spot for visitors today.
Because this was the home of Rose of Lima and her family, it is also where many special events, known as miracles, are said to have happened.
History of the Sanctuary
The sanctuary was officially opened on August 24, 1992, after it was updated and made ready for visitors. Inside, you can also see a painting of Saint Rose. This painting was once carried by Miguel Grau, a famous Peruvian naval hero, on his ship, the Huáscar.
