Sandia Heights is located in the northern part of Bernalillo County. It sits right at the western base of the Sandia Mountains. Imagine a big mountain range, and Sandia Heights is nestled at its foot!
The city of Albuquerque is just south of Sandia Heights. A fun place nearby is the Sandia Peak Tramway. This tramway takes people up the mountains. Its starting point is very close to the northern edge of Sandia Heights.
