Santa is a small, unincorporated community located in Benewah County, Idaho, in the United States. An unincorporated community means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
This community is found about 13 miles (21 km) south-southeast of a larger town called St. Maries, along Idaho State Highway 3. Santa has its own post office, which uses the ZIP code 83866. For a short time in 2005, the community even changed its name to SecretSanta.com to help promote a website and raise at least $20,000!
History of Santa
A post office has been operating in Santa since 1887. The community got its unique name from a nearby stream called Santa Anna Creek.
