Sarah Gonçalves Correa (born August 14, 1992 – died May 2, 2015) was a talented Brazilian swimmer. She was known for her freestyle swimming. Sarah won medals in big competitions like the Pan American Games and the South American Games. She was a dedicated athlete who loved to swim and competed for her country.

Early Swimming Success
Sarah started showing her talent early in her swimming career.
National Championships
In 2008, when she was 16 years old, Sarah took second place. This happened in the 1500-metre freestyle event. The competition was the José Finkel Trophy, which is a major Brazilian championship. The next year, in 2009, she won the 1500-metre freestyle at the same event.
International Competitions
Sarah Correa also represented Brazil in several important international swimming events.
South American Games
In 2010, Sarah competed at the 2010 South American Games. These games took place in Medellín. She won a gold medal there. Her gold medal was for the 4×200-metre freestyle relay race. Her team also set a new competition record in this event.
Pan Pacific Championships
Later in 2010, Sarah went to the 2010 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships. This big event was held in Irvine, California. She competed in several freestyle races. Sarah finished sixth in the 4×200-metre freestyle relay. She also swam in individual races. She placed 32nd in the 200-metre freestyle. In the 400-metre freestyle, she finished 25th. Sarah was part of the Brazilian team for the 2011 Pan American Games. These games were held in Guadalajara. She helped her team win a silver medal. This medal was for the 4×200-metre freestyle relay. Sarah participated in the early heats of the race. She also finished 15th in the 800-metre freestyle event.
Later Life
Sarah Correa's life was sadly cut short. She passed away on May 2, 2015. This happened after an accident near her home. She was waiting at a bus stop in Rio de Janeiro. She was taken to the hospital. However, she died from serious head injuries the next day.
