Sarah A. Wescot-Williams was born on April 8, 1956. She is a very important political leader in Sint Maarten. She made history by becoming the first ever Prime Minister of Sint Maarten. She also leads the Democratic Party.

Sarah Wescot-Williams has also served many times as the President of Parliament. This means she helps lead the meetings and work of the country's main law-making body.

Becoming Prime Minister

Sint Maarten became its own country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands on October 10, 2010. This was a big moment! After this, Sarah Wescot-Williams was chosen to be the first Prime Minister.
