The prime minister of Sint Maarten is like the main leader of the government in Sint Maarten. This important role started on 10 October 2010, when the Netherlands Antilles (a group of islands) was dissolved. The prime minister works with the Council of Ministers and the governor of Sint Maarten to run the country. They are all part of the executive branch, which means they make sure the laws are carried out. Sint Maarten's current prime minister is Luc Mercelina.
