Batmönkhiin Sarantuyaa (Mongolian: Батмөнхийн Сарантуяа), born on April 20, 1970, is a famous singer from Mongolia. Many people know her simply as Sarantuya or Saraa. She has been a very important singer in pop music for the Mongol people since the late 1980s. People still love her music, and she is often called the "queen of Mongolian pop music."
Saraa sings with a special voice type called a mezzo-soprano, which is a medium-range female singing voice. She also uses a singing technique called falsetto, which helps her sing very high notes.
She is the most successful Mongolian artist ever, selling more music than anyone else. Some of her popular songs include "Torson Odriin Bayar," "Bi Jargaltai," and "Argagui Amrag."
Saraa was born in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. She started her music journey singing in a small band named "Mungun Harandaa," which means "Silver Pencil."
