Sarule is a small town, also called a comune (municipality), located on the beautiful island of Sardinia in Italy. It's part of the Province of Nuoro. This charming place is found about 170 kilometers (106 miles) north of Cagliari, which is a bigger city, and about 15 kilometers (9 miles) southwest of Nuoro.

Sarule is in the central part of Sardinia. It shares its borders with several other towns. These include Mamoiada, Ollolai, Olzai, Orani, and Ottana.
How Many People Live in Sarule?
As of December 31, 2004, Sarule had a population of 1,864 people. The people who live in Sarule are called Sarulesi.
Over the years, the population of Sarule has changed. In the mid-1800s, there were around 1,400 to 1,500 residents. The number of people grew steadily, reaching over 2,000 by the 1930s. The highest population recorded was 2,475 in 1961. After that, the population slowly decreased, returning to around 1,900 by 2001.
