Saskia Bartusiak (born on September 9, 1982) is a German former professional footballer. She was known for playing as a centre back, which is a key defensive position in football. She played for several clubs and was a very important player for the German national team.

Playing for Clubs
Saskia Bartusiak started her football journey at FV 09 Eschersheim. In 1996, she moved to FSV Frankfurt. There, she made her first appearance in the Bundesliga, which is Germany's top women's football league.
After five years, in 2005, she joined 1. FFC Frankfurt. This club was a local rival of her previous team. Saskia played as a central defender. She became a very important player for FFC Frankfurt's success.
With FFC Frankfurt, she won many titles:
- Two Bundesliga championships
- Three German Cup titles
She also helped her team win the UEFA Women's Cup twice. This happened in the 2005–06 and 2007–08 seasons. This is a big European club competition.
Playing for Germany
Saskia Bartusiak first played for the German national team in April 2007. This was in a friendly match against the Netherlands.
She was part of Germany's team that won the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup. She played in one match during that tournament, which was the opening game against Argentina.
Saskia was often called to play for Germany in big tournaments. At the 2008 Summer Olympics, she was a reserve player. She helped her team win a bronze medal there.
