Satoshi Yamaguchi (山口 悟, Yamaguchi Satoshi, born August 1, 1959) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a goalkeeper. He also played for the Japan national team.

Playing Career
Club Teams
Satoshi Yamaguchi was born in Oita Prefecture, Japan, on August 1, 1959. After finishing high school, he joined a football club called Mitsubishi Motors in 1978.
At Mitsubishi Motors, Satoshi was a reserve goalkeeper. This means he was a backup player. He did not get to play in any official games for his club. The main goalkeeper for the team was Mitsuhisa Taguchi, who was also a player for Japan's national team. Satoshi Yamaguchi retired from playing football in 1984.
National Team Appearances
Even though he did not play for his club team, Satoshi Yamaguchi had a chance to play for his country. In August 1979, he was chosen for the Japan U-20 national team. This team played in the 1979 World Youth Championship. However, he was a reserve goalkeeper for this team too. Yasuhito Suzuki was the main goalkeeper.
In February 1981, Satoshi Yamaguchi was selected for the Japan national team. This was special because he had not played in any games for his club. The manager of the Japan team, Saburo Kawabuchi, liked to choose young players. On February 19, Satoshi Yamaguchi played his first game for the Japan national team. This game was against the Singapore team.
