Savannah Janine Shields Wolfe (born July 1, 1995), known as Savvy Shields, is an American who won the Miss America 2017 title. She is from Fayetteville, Arkansas. Before becoming Miss America, she was crowned Miss Arkansas 2016. She won the national title on September 11, 2016.

About Savvy Shields
Her Early Life and Studies
Savvy Shields was born on July 1, 1995, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She went to the University of Arkansas. There, she earned a degree in fine arts and also studied business. Savvy was part of a student group called Kappa Kappa Gamma. After her year as Miss America, she went back to the University of Arkansas in January 2018 to finish her studies.
Her Journey in Pageants
Savvy started competing in pageants when she was younger. In June 2009, she won the Miss Arkansas' Outstanding Teen title. She then represented Arkansas at the 2010 Miss America's Outstanding Teen pageant.
Later, Savvy won the Miss Arkansas Collegiate 2013 title. This led her to compete in the Miss Collegiate America 2013 Pageant. She was crowned Miss Collegiate America 2013 on July 8, 2013.
Becoming Miss Arkansas 2016
In July 2016, Savvy competed as Miss Heart of the Ozarks. She won awards for her lifestyle and fitness, and for her talent. She then won the main title of Miss Arkansas 2016. Her special project, or "platform," was called “Eat Better, Live Better.”
Winning Miss America 2017
Savvy represented Arkansas at the Miss America 2017 competition. This big event took place in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in September 2016. Her platform, "Eat Better, Live Better," focused on healthy eating.
During the competition, Savvy won the talent part. She earned a $2,000 scholarship for her jazz dance performance. She danced to a song called “They Just Keep Moving the Line.”
In the final round, a judge asked Savvy about a presidential candidate. Savvy explained that leaders are held to a high standard. She also mentioned that the media can sometimes make things seem more dramatic.
Savvy won the Miss America 2017 title. She was crowned by the previous Miss America, Betty Cantrell. Along with the title, Savvy also received a $50,000 scholarship. She is the third Miss Arkansas to win the Miss America title. The others were Donna Axum in 1964 and Elizabeth Ward in 1982.
Her Personal Life
After her year as Miss America ended, Savvy's longtime boyfriend, Nate Wolfe, asked her to marry him. They got married on July 28, 2018, in Bentonville, Arkansas.
