Sawgrass Lake is a beautiful lake located in Brevard County, Florida, in the United States. It is one of several lakes that help form the famous St. Johns River.
You can usually get to Sawgrass Lake by boat. There is a special boat ramp on U.S. Route 192, which is on the west side of the St. Johns River. The lake is found close to where the river begins, also known as its headwaters. Because the river flows slowly here, the lake does not get very big.
Sawgrass Lake is about 4 miles (6.4 km) across. Its total surface area is less than 1,000 acres (4 km2). The lake is right next to an area called the Indian Fields. It is also only about 3 miles (4.8 km) upstream from Lake Washington, which is the biggest lake in the county. The lake is managed by the St. Johns Water Management District.
