Scott is a small town located in Lincoln County, Wisconsin, in the United States. In 2010, about 1,432 people lived here. This was a bit more than the 1,287 people who lived there in 2000.

History of Scott

The town of Scott got its name from a person named Thomas B. Scott. He was an important leader in Wisconsin. Thomas B. Scott served in the Wisconsin State Senate for many years. He was a senator from 1873 to 1882.

Geography of Scott

Scott is located in the southern part of Lincoln County. To the south, it shares a border with Marathon County. To the north, it is next to the city of Merrill. Merrill is the main city and county seat of Lincoln County.

The Wisconsin River forms the eastern edge of the town. However, the river goes through Merrill in some places. The town covers a total area of about 79.8 square kilometers (about 30.8 square miles). Most of this area is land, around 78.1 square kilometers (30.2 square miles). The rest, about 1.7 square kilometers (0.7 square miles), is water. This means about 2% of the town's area is water.
