In 2017, Young was part of the movie Blade Runner 2049, the sequel to the 1982 classic. She reprised her role as Rachael. The filmmakers used amazing technology to make her look exactly as she did in the first film.

They used old footage and a new actress as a body double. Young also worked as an acting coach for the actress who helped bring the new version of Rachael to life. This showed how important her original performance was to the series.
