Who Owns Searchmont Resort?
Searchmont Resort has had a few different owners over the years.
Early Ownership
For a while, Searchmont Resort was run by a group called "Searchmont Ski Association Inc." (SSAI). This was a non-profit group, which means they used any money they made to help the resort, not to make a profit for owners.
Changes in Ownership
In December 2014, the resort was bought by the economic development corporation of Sault Ste. Marie. An economic development corporation is a group that works to help a city or region grow its economy. They often help businesses and projects get started or improve.
Later, on November 1, 2018, a company from Detroit called Wisconsin Resorts Inc. purchased Searchmont Resort. They now own and operate the resort, continuing to provide a fun place for winter sports.
