Sebalter (whose real name is Sebastiano Paù-Lessi) is a singer and fiddle player from Switzerland. He was born on July 1, 1985. Sebalter is also a lawyer. He became well-known when he represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. He sang the song "Hunter of Stars" in the final. Sebalter finished 13th in the contest. Before focusing on music, he worked as a business lawyer.

Sebalter's Music Journey
Early Music Years (2000–2012)
Sebalter started his music journey playing bass guitar. From 2000 to 2002, he was in a hard rock band called The Stalkers. They played cover songs from famous bands like Uriah Heep and Led Zeppelin.
Later, from 2002 to 2012, Sebalter played the fiddle in a folk rock band called The Vad Vuc. With this band, he released three albums and toured a lot. In 2012, he decided to leave the band. He wanted to start his own music career as a solo artist.
While studying at university in 2005, Sebalter also worked in television. He helped host a youth TV show called Le vostre vacanze (Your Holiday). This show was on a Swiss channel called TSI. He also hosted two New Year's TV specials in 2006 and 2007.
Eurovision and First Album (2013–2015)
In November 2013, Sebalter's song "Hunter of Stars" was chosen. It was one of the songs to compete for Switzerland's spot in Eurovision. The song passed the first checks and moved on to the national final. In December, the song was released as a single.
Sebalter and his band performed "Hunter of Stars" at the Swiss national final. This show was called Die Große Entscheidungsshow. They won the competition on February 1, 2014. This meant Sebalter would represent Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
He performed "Hunter of Stars" in the second semi-final on May 8, 2014. He qualified for the grand final on May 10, 2014. Sebalter finished 13th with 64 points. This was Switzerland's best result since 2005.
After Eurovision, he released a new single called "Saturday" in July 2014. In January 2015, his first studio album came out. It was called Day of Glory. This album included his hit songs "Hunter of Stars" and "Saturday." The album reached number 9 on the Swiss Albums Chart.
In 2015, Sebalter announced he would take a break from music. He wanted to go back to working as a lawyer. However, he still performs sometimes. He tours around Switzerland and Italy with his guitarist Mattia Bordignon and banjo player Rocco Casella.
New Music and Eurovision Commentary (2016–Present)
In 2016, Sebalter was part of the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. He announced the Swiss jury's votes during the final in Stockholm.
His second studio album, named Awakening, was released on January 20, 2017. He also performed his song "Weeping Willow" on the Swiss Eurovision selection show in 2017. Since the 2017 contest, Sebalter has been a TV commentator. He works for the Swiss-Italian broadcaster RSI, along with Clarissa Tami. They comment on the Eurovision grand final.
In 2018, it was announced that Sebalter wanted to return to Eurovision. He tried to represent Switzerland in the 2019 contest. His song was called "Carry the Light." However, the Swiss broadcaster SRF chose Luca Hänni as their representative that year.
