Carlos Sebastián Sosa Silva, born on August 19, 1986, is a professional footballer from Uruguay. He plays as a goalkeeper for Deportivo Maipú. He is known for his skills in goal and has played for many important clubs in South America.

Club Career Highlights
Starting in Uruguay
Sebastián Sosa began his professional football journey with Peñarol in 2007. In 2008, he went on loan to Central Español, where he played 28 games over two years. After his loan, he returned to Peñarol.
When he came back to Peñarol, Sosa was initially the second-choice goalkeeper. However, his coach, Julio Ribas, soon made him the main goalkeeper for the 2009–10 Uruguayan Primera División season. During this season, Sosa helped Peñarol win the league title, which is a big achievement. He also played a key role when Peñarol reached the final of the 2011 Copa Libertadores, a major South American club competition.
Playing for Big Clubs in Argentina
In July 2011, Sosa moved to Argentina to play for the famous club Boca Juniors. He spent one year at Boca, mostly as a backup goalkeeper. Even so, he helped the team win the 2011 Apertura league title and the 2011–12 Copa Argentina cup.
After Boca Juniors, Sosa joined another Argentine club, Vélez Sársfield. Here, he also started as a second-choice goalkeeper. But he soon became a regular starter and played in 9 games when his team won the 2012 Inicial title. Sosa was also the starting goalkeeper for Vélez when they won the 2012–13 Superfinal and the 2013 Supercopa.
Moving to Mexico
In June 2015, after his contract with Vélez ended, Sebastián Sosa moved to Mexico to play for Pachuca.
In January 2017, Sosa joined Monarcas Morelia on loan from Pachuca. He was initially the second-choice goalkeeper. However, he made a strong impression and helped Morelia avoid relegation. He became the main goalkeeper for the last two games of the season, which was very important for the team.
Recent Club Career
After his time at Morelia, Sosa continued to play for various clubs. He joined Mazatlán in 2020. Later, he went on loan to Independiente in Argentina, and then joined them permanently in 2022. In 2023, he played for UNAM and then Atlético Morelia. In 2024, he had a brief return to Vélez Sarsfield before joining his current club, Deportivo Maipú.
International Career
Sebastián Sosa has represented his home country, Uruguay, at different levels. He played for the under-17 and under-20 youth teams.
At the age of 35, he made his debut for the senior national team on June 11, 2022. This was in a friendly game against Panama, which Uruguay won 5–0.
