Selma Bajrami (born on July 4, 1980) is a famous singer from Bosnia and Herzegovina. She started her music journey when she was 18 years old. Her first album, Kad suza ne bude..., came out in 1998. Selma has released nine studio albums so far. Many people consider her one of the most popular female singers from her country.
Over the years, Selma's music style has changed a lot. In the late 1990s, she sang Balkan folk-pop songs. These songs often used traditional instruments and showed strong feelings. In the early 2000s, she started mixing folk music with modern pop sounds. This helped her become popular in many countries that used to be part of Yugoslavia.
With her album Kakvo tijelo Selma ima (2004), she added more dance-style songs. This made her known as a bold and energetic performer. Her 2007 album Ostrvo tuge had a more polished pop sound. It also included some rock and ballad songs, showing deeper emotions. In the 2010s, Selma tried new modern pop and urban sounds. She also worked with rappers and younger music producers. This helped her music stay fresh for new generations.
Even with all these changes, Selma kept her unique singing voice. It is powerful and full of emotion. This voice has been her special artistic mark for many years.
