Selma Ergeç is well-known for her roles in popular TV shows and movies. One of her most famous parts was playing Hatice Sultan, the sister of Sultan Süleyman, in the historical TV series Muhteşem Yüzyıl. She has also appeared in Asi, Vatanım Sensin, and Yaşamayanlar.

Selma Ergeç was born in Hamm, Germany. Her mother is German, and her father is Turkish. She once shared that her father's family has roots connected to Mahmud II, who was a Sultan of the Ottoman Empire.
Before becoming an actress, Selma studied medicine at Westfalia Wilhems University in Münster for three years. She also studied psychology and philosophy at the FernUniversität Hagen. She started her career in 2000 as a model. Later, she began acting, appearing in films like Sis ve Gece and Beş Vakit.
