The Sentiero di Leonardo is a special walking path in Northern Italy and Southern Switzerland. Its name means "The Trail of Leonardo" in English. It is named after the famous artist and inventor, Leonardo Da Vinci. This trail was opened in February 2019. This was 500 years after Leonardo Da Vinci passed away.

The trail goes through many places that were important to Leonardo's life and his amazing art. The Sentiero di Leonardo is not a brand new path. Instead, it connects many existing walking paths and trails. One example is the Sentiero del Viandante.

What is the Sentiero di Leonardo?

The Sentiero di Leonardo is a very long path. It stretches for 540 kilometers in total. It is split into two main parts. One part goes along the eastern side of Lake Como. The other part follows the western side of the lake.

Where Does the Trail Go?

The trail starts in Pavia, a city in Italy. It then goes all the way to San Bernardino in Switzerland. You can walk both halves of the trail. It would take about 26 days to complete the whole journey.
