Serial (Bad) Weddings (in French: Qu'est-ce qu'on a fait au Bon Dieu?) is a funny French movie from 2014. It was directed by Philippe de Chauveron. The film is a comedy about a family dealing with different cultures and traditions.
What is Serial (Bad) Weddings About?
The movie tells the story of Claude and Marie Verneuil, a traditional French couple. They have four daughters whom they love very much. Claude and Marie are Catholic and hope their daughters will marry French Catholic men.
However, their first three daughters surprise them. One daughter marries a Jewish man, another marries a Chinese man, and the third marries an Arab man. This is a big change for Claude and Marie, and they find it hard to accept at first.
Their last daughter, Laure, is their final hope. When she announces she is marrying a Catholic man, her parents are very happy. But then they find out her fiancé is from Ivory Coast in West Africa. This adds even more cultural differences to the family! The movie shows how the family learns to understand and accept each other, no matter their backgrounds.
