Armaghan Shahid (born on April 27, 1971), known to many as Shaan Shahid or simply Shaan, is a famous Pakistani actor, producer, writer, and director. He is one of the most popular and successful actors in Pakistan.
Shaan began his acting journey in 1990 with the film Bulandi. He has appeared in hundreds of movies since then. He has also won many important awards in Pakistan, including the Pride of Performance award.

Early Life and School
Shaan Shahid was born in Lahore, Pakistan. His father, Riaz Shahid, was a director, and his mother, Neelo, was a well-known actress. Shaan also has a younger brother, Sarosh Shahid, who is an actor.
He went to a famous school called Aitchison College. When he was young, he acted in a play and even won an award for it. However, he didn't think about acting as a job at that time. After Aitchison College, he moved to New York, USA, and went to Newtown High School. He wanted to become a lawyer.
Shaan lived in New York for seven years. Then, he came back to Pakistan for a visit. That's when he started working in his family's film business. At 19, he acted in his first movie, Bulandi, which came out in 1990.
His Career in Films
As an Actor
Shaan's first movie was Bulandi in 1990. He acted alongside Reema Khan, who was also new to films. Since then, he has starred in many Urdu and Punjabi language movies.
In 2013, Shaan was in the movie Waar, which was a very popular film in Pakistan. He won the Best Actor award for this movie at the 1st ARY Film Awards. After Waar, he appeared in another film called O21. In 2015, he acted in Yalghaar, which was one of the most expensive films made in Pakistan.
Shaan has also acted in independent films like Naach and Ishq Khuda. He has even sung some songs in his movies.
As a Director
Shaan wanted to help improve filmmaking in Pakistan, so he also became a director. He directed his first big movie, Guns and Roses - Ik Junoon, in 1999. He also acted in this film.
Later, he directed Mujhe Chand Chahiye (2000) and Moosa Khan (2001). Both films were well-received by critics. Shaan has been working on other film projects as a director, showing his dedication to Pakistani cinema.
As a TV Host
Shaan also hosted a morning TV show called Geo Shaan Say on Geo News. However, he left the show to focus more on his acting projects, especially the film Waar.
Brand Ambassador Roles
For Businesses
Shaan is known for his elegant style and strong presence. Because of this, many big brands have chosen him to represent them. In 2009, he helped launch a special soap for Unilever Pakistan. He also worked with Pepsi to promote their brand in Pakistan, alongside singer Ali Zafar.
In 2004, Shaan became the spokesperson for 'Mobilink Indigo', a mobile phone service. He represented the brand as a busy person who balances work and family life.
Shaan also became a Goodwill Ambassador for a campaign called 'One Pack = One Vaccine'. This campaign was started by UNICEF and other organizations to help stop tetanus in Pakistan. Shaan visited many places to teach parents about this serious disease.
For Sports
Shaan is also very interested in sports. He became a brand ambassador for the Lahore Qalandars, a team in the PSL cricket tournament, in 2017. Later, he was named the brand ambassador for the Kashmir Premier League. In 2021, he also became the brand ambassador for the Punjab Sports Board.
Personal Life
Shaan is married to Amina Shaan. They have four daughters: Bahisht-i-Bareen Shahid, Nooriya Shahid, Shahbano Shahid, and Raania Shahid.
