Armaghan Shahid (born April 27, 1971), known as Shaan Shahid or Shaan, is a famous Pakistani actor, producer, and director. He is one of Pakistan's most popular leading actors.
Shaan began his acting career in 1990. His first film was Bulandi. By 2014, he had acted in 576 movies. These included 388 Punjabi films and 188 Urdu films.
He has won many awards in Pakistan. These include the Pride of Performance, fifteen Nigar Awards, five Lux Style Awards, and an ARY Film Award. Shaan is also known as one of the highest-paid film stars in Pakistan.

Early Life and Education
Shaan Shahid was born in Lahore, Pakistan. His father, Riaz Shahid, was a director. His mother, Neelo, was a well-known actress. His father was from Kashmir and was Muslim. His mother was a Punjabi Christian who later became Muslim.
Shaan went to the famous Aitchison College for his early schooling. He acted in a play called Alif Noon there. He won an award for best actor in this comedy play. However, he did not think about acting as a career at that time.
After Aitchison College, he moved to New York, USA. He joined Newtown High School. He dreamed of becoming a lawyer. He lived in New York for seven years.
Shaan returned to Pakistan for a holiday. He then decided to join his family's film business, Riaz Shahid Films. He was 19 years old when he acted in his first film, Bulandi, in 1990.
Shaan's Career
Becoming an Actor
Shaan's first film, Bulandi, came out in 1990. He starred alongside Reema Khan, who was also new to acting. Since then, he has appeared in hundreds of films. These movies are in both Urdu and Punjabi languages.
In 2013, Shaan starred in the film Waar. This movie was directed by Bilal Lashari. It was a very popular film in Pakistan. Shaan won the Best Actor Award for his role in Waar.
After Waar, he acted in O21 in 2014. In 2015, he was in Yalghaar. This film was one of the most expensive movies made in Pakistani cinema.
Shaan has also sung songs in some of his films.
Directing Films
Shaan wanted to help improve filmmaking in Pakistan. So, he started directing movies. His first big project as a director was Guns and Roses - Ik Junoon. This film was released in 1999. He also acted in it.
In 2000, he directed Mujhe Chand Chahiye. He starred in this film too. Then, in 2001, he directed Moosa Khan. This movie received good reviews from critics.
Hosting TV Shows
Shaan also worked as a TV host. He hosted a morning show called Geo Shaan Say on Geo News. However, he left the show to focus on his film projects, like Waar.
Brand Ambassador Roles
Working with Businesses
Shaan is well-educated and has a strong presence. This has made him popular for many brands. He has worked with several big companies.
In 2009, he helped launch a special soap for Unilever Pakistan called LUX Limited Edition. He also worked with Pepsi to promote their brand in Pakistan. He appeared with singer Ali Zafar for Pepsi.
Pakistan's mobile company Mobilink chose Shaan as a spokesperson for 'Mobilink Indigo' in 2004. This brand was for important people and families. Shaan played a character who managed his busy life with the help of Indigo.
Shaan was also a Goodwill Ambassador for 'One Pack = One Vaccine'. This campaign was started by UNICEF, Procter & Gamble, and the Ministry of Health. Its goal was to get rid of tetanus in Pakistan. Shaan visited many cities to teach parents about this disease. He showed them how to fight it.
Supporting Sports
Shaan is very interested in sports. He became a brand ambassador for the Lahore Qalandars. This is a team in the PSL. This happened before the second season of the league.
After working with the PSL, he was named the brand ambassador for the Kashmir Premier League. In 2021, he also became the brand ambassador for the Punjab Sports Board.
Personal Life
Shaan is married to Amina Shaan. They have four daughters. Their names are Bahisht-i-Bareen Shahid, Nooriya Shahid, Shahbano Shahid, and Raania Shahid.
