Shailyn says she got interested in acting by watching her mom work on movie sets. She is currently studying drama at Mayfield Secondary School.

Shailyn started her career very young as a child model. She appeared in many commercials and ads. Her first big movie role was in 2013. She played Kelly in the Hollywood film The Best Man Holiday. Kelly was the daughter of characters played by Regina Hall and Harold Perrineau.
