Shakial Taylor (born December 27, 1996) is a former American football player. He played as a cornerback, a defensive position, and was known for his skills in college football at the University of Kansas.

Shakial Taylor's College Journey
Shakial Taylor started his college football career at South Dakota State. After one year, he moved to Mesa Community College. At Mesa, he had a great season. He broke up 18 passes, made one interception, and had 42 total tackles.
Playing for the Kansas Jayhawks
Taylor then transferred to the University of Kansas for his last two years. Many other colleges also wanted him to play for them. In his first season with the Jayhawks, he started nine games. He made 22 tackles and broke up six passes before an injury ended his season early.
As a senior, Taylor had an even better year. He recorded 47 tackles and made three interceptions. One of his interceptions was even returned for a touchdown! He also defended seven passes and forced two fumbles.
Shakial Taylor's Professional Career
After college, Shakial Taylor joined the National Football League (NFL). He signed with several teams during his professional career.
Time with the Indianapolis Colts
Shakial Taylor first signed with the Indianapolis Colts in May 2019. Even though he played well in the preseason, he was released from the team due to an injury. He later rejoined the Colts' practice squad in October 2019. A practice squad is where players train with the team but are not on the main roster.
Taylor was then moved to the active roster. He made his first NFL appearance on October 6, 2019, against the Kansas City Chiefs. In that game, he made one tackle and broke up a pass. He was later released by the Colts in November 2019.
Moving to Other NFL Teams
After leaving the Colts, Taylor was picked up by the Denver Broncos in November 2019. He stayed with them for a while. In April 2020, he signed a new contract with the Broncos. However, he was released in July 2020.
The very next day, the New York Giants claimed him. But he was released by the Giants just five days later. Taylor then chose to take a break from the 2020 NFL season due to health concerns. He was added back to the Giants' reserve list in August 2020 but was released again in February 2021.
His last NFL team was the Philadelphia Eagles. He was claimed by them in February 2021. However, he was released by the Eagles in August 2021.
