Sharon Leigh Bruneau was born on February 1, 1964. She is a Canadian model and used to be a professional bodybuilder and fitness competitor.

Sharon's Amazing Career
Sharon started her career as a successful fashion model. However, she got very sick with pneumonia and lost a lot of weight. After she got better, she began lifting weights to get back to her modeling weight.
From Model to Bodybuilder
When Sharon became more muscular from her training, modeling agencies said she was too big. So, she decided to stop modeling and focus on bodybuilding instead! During her time as a bodybuilder, Sharon gained almost 50 pounds of muscle. Later, she competed in fitness competitions, which meant she became a bit less muscular. Sharon was even featured on the covers of popular magazines like Muscle & Fitness and Flex.
From 1991 to 1998, a big company called Weider Health and Fitness chose Sharon as one of their first female representatives. This was a big deal for her career!
Moving to Fitness and Inspiring Others
Sharon stopped competing in bodybuilding after the 1994 Ms. Olympia contest. She then switched to fitness competitions. In 1995, she placed 11th in the Fitness Olympia. Sharon felt her strong muscles might have been why she didn't place higher. Back then, judges in fitness competitions often preferred athletes with a toned look rather than very large muscles.
Today, Sharon inspires people around the world. She gives motivational workshops where she talks about staying healthy and fit.
Sharon in Movies
Sharon also had small roles in several movies. These include Tornado Run (1995), Nemesis 2: Nebula (1995), Nemesis 3: Prey Harder (1996), and R.S.V.P. (2002). In 2007, she even did some stunt work for the movie Smokin' Aces.
In the 1980s and 1990s, many movie agents looked for bodybuilders and wrestlers for science fiction films. This opened up new career paths for athletes like Sharon!
