Sharon Kerry-Harlan's Artistic Journey

Sharon Kerry-Harlan was born in Miami, Florida. She went to Marquette University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. She also studied at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design.

After her studies, she worked at Marquette University as an Academic Coordinator. She also taught classes about textile art at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. This helped her share her passion and knowledge with others.

A Special Artwork at the Smithsonian

In 2022, one of Sharon Kerry-Harlan's important artworks was chosen for a very special place. Her piece, called Portrait of Resilience, from the Flag Series, was added to the Smithsonian American Art Museum. This happened as part of the Renwick Gallery's 50th Anniversary celebration.
