Shaun Chen (born 3 November 1978) is a Malaysian actor. He used to be a national badminton player. Shaun Chen now works in Singapore.
He started his career as a host for a TV show called City Beat. He then began acting in 2003. His first acting roles were in the TV series True Heroes and Holland V.
Shaun Chen became very famous in 2015. He won three important awards at the Star Awards 2015. These included the Rocket Award, Best Actor, and his first Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes award.

Early Life and School
Shaun Chen was born in Jelebu, Negri Sembilan, Malaysia. He is the youngest of seven children in his family.
When he was 13, Chen moved to Seremban to study. He also became a badminton player for his state. He tried to join the national team but did not make it. Later, he earned a diploma in electronic and electrical engineering from a private college.
Career Journey
Before moving to Singapore, Shaun Chen had many different jobs in Malaysia. He worked as an electrician and a car spray-painter. He also sold credit cards and eyeglasses. He even worked as a model and appeared on billboards for Maxis.
Early in his acting career, Chen was known for playing bad guys, also known as villains. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in 2006 for his role in the TV series CID.
In 2011, Chen starred in a very popular TV show called Love Thy Neighbour.
Becoming a Star
In 2015, Shaun Chen won the Best Actor award. This was for his role in The Journey: Tumultuous Times. He also won his first Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes award that same year. He also received the Rocket Award, which celebrates actors who have made a big leap in their careers.
Winning these awards made him one of the top actors in the industry. Since then, Chen has played main roles in big TV shows. Some of these include My Friends From Afar and Hero (2016 TV series).
He was nominated for Best Actor again in 2018 for My Friends From Afar.
As of 2024, Shaun Chen has won the Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes award seven times. He won in 2015, and then every year from 2018 to 2024.

In July 2023, Shaun Chen invested a large amount of money in a fancy bar. The bar is called The Gold Club and is located in Orchard Road's The Heeren.
Personal Life
Shaun Chen's birth name is 陈节隆 (Chén Jiélóng). He started using the stage name 陈泓宇 (Chén Hóngyǔ) when he began acting in 2003.
He married his girlfriend, Michelle Chia, in May 2009. They had been together for six years. The couple announced their divorce in April 2011. However, they said they remained friends.
In July 2015, Chen married his Malaysian girlfriend, Celine Chin. Their relationship was kept private until October 2015. That is when he announced they were expecting a baby. They now have two daughters.
