Shavano Park is a city in Bexar County, Texas, United States. In 2020, about 3,524 people lived there. This was more than the 3,035 people counted in 2010. Shavano Park is part of the larger San Antonio area. It is known for having some of the wealthiest families in Bexar County.

Where is Shavano Park?
Shavano Park is in the northern part of Bexar County. The city of San Antonio completely surrounds it. The northern edge of Shavano Park is next to the Charles W. Anderson Loop. This is a large road that goes around San Antonio.
Land and Elevation
Even though it's near the Texas Hill Country, Shavano Park is mostly flat or gently rolling. Most of the city is between 950 and 1,000 feet above sea level. This is different from areas just north of the Anderson Loop, where hills can rise quickly. The eastern part of Shavano Park has a plateau that looks over a cliff. This cliff is where Shavano Park ends and San Antonio begins.
The city covers about 8.6 square kilometers (3.3 square miles). Only a very small part of this area is water.

- Hobby Middle School and Rawlinson Middle School serve middle school students.
- Tom C. Clark High School serves high school students.

Getting Around Town
VIA Metropolitan Transit provides bus service in Shavano Park. Bus service started in August 2007. Route #97 helps residents travel around the area.

The Shavano Park Police Department has 19 police officers. They work to protect the community and enforce laws.
Fire Department
The Shavano Park Fire Department has 17 full-time staff members. They work on a special schedule: two days on duty, then four days off. The team includes a Fire Chief, an Administrator, ten firefighter/paramedics, and five firefighter/EMT personnel.
The department has modern equipment. This includes two fire trucks (called Class A pumpers) and two ambulances. They also have a brush truck for fires in grassy areas. The City of Shavano Park has a high safety rating from the ISO. This rating helps with insurance costs.
