Shavar Ross is an American actor, film director, and writer. He is also a producer, editor, and photographer. Shavar is known for playing Dudley Johnson in the TV show Diff'rent Strokes. He was the best friend of Arnold Jackson, played by Gary Coleman. Shavar also played Weasel in the show Family Matters. Movie fans might know him as "Reggie the Reckless" from the horror film Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985).

Shavar Ross's Early Life
Shavar Ross was born in The Bronx, a part of New York City. When he was seven years old, his parents separated. Shavar moved to Macon, Georgia, with his mother and sister. His father went to Los Angeles to try acting.
Shavar's Acting Career
In 1979, Shavar visited his father in California during Christmas break. While there, a top agent for child actors, Evelyn Shultz, discovered him.
First TV Roles
In 1980, Shavar got his first big TV role. He played Dudley Johnson on NBC's Diff'rent Strokes. Dudley was the best friend of Arnold Jackson, played by Gary Coleman. That same year, Shavar also appeared in a TV movie called Scout's Honor, also with Gary Coleman.
Two years later, Shavar started doing voice acting. He voiced Billie "Buckwheat" Thomas for the animated TV show The Little Rascals. He also appeared in two episodes of the TV show Benson.
Later TV and Film Roles
Shavar had another important role on the TV series Family Matters. He played a character named "Weasel."
Throughout his career, Shavar Ross has appeared in over 100 TV shows and movies. In 1985, he was in Friday the 13th: A New Beginning as Reggie "Reggie the Reckless" Winter. From 1986 to 1988, he played Bryant Calvin. Bryant was the son of T.C., a character in the TV series Magnum, P.I.
Beyond Acting: New Ventures
In 1996, Shavar finished four years of Bible School. After that, he started a Christian church in Los Angeles called The Alive Church. He was the pastor there for four years.
Shavar is also the founder and CEO of Tri-Seven Entertainment, Inc. This company creates and shares inspiring movies, TV shows, and products online. As a director, his first short film was Soul to Take (2003). This film led to a deal with Russell Simmons' media company. His second short film, A Taste of Us (2004), was about the civil rights movement in the 1960s.
Shavar's first full-length movie as a director was Lord Help Us. It came out in 2007. This movie was an inspiring romantic comedy. It starred singers and actors like Nadia Turner, Margaret Avery, Debra Wilson, and Al Jarreau.
In 2008, Shavar acted in David Alan Grier's show Chocolate News on Comedy Central. In 2009, he appeared in a documentary called His Name Was Jason: 30 Years of Friday the 13th.
