About Shawn Emanuel

His Early Life

Shawn Emanuel was born in London on January 5th. He grew up in West London with his mother. Shawn's father is a reggae artist known as Dixie Peach. Shawn is the second of four children.

Even when he was very young, Shawn loved music. Before he started primary school, he was often seen playing a small keyboard. He would try to copy famous musicians like Stevie Wonder. He also loved Michael Jackson's music.

"Even at a very young age, he was always intrigued with music. Before attending Primary School, he was caught several times on a small keyboard imitating Stevie Wonder."

When Shawn was at Fox Primary School, his mother sent him to piano lessons. She wanted to help him grow his love for music. He also learned to play the cello. As a teenager, he attended the Centre for Young Musicians Weekend College.

Shawn later studied at The Brit School, a special school for performing arts. He also learned about sound and lighting for stage shows. Shawn attended Westminster Theatre Arts and was part of Sabrina Guinness’s YCTV.

Starting His Music Career

Shawn Emanuel was part of a few boy bands before he decided to sing on his own. He recorded a song called "Shake That Thing" with British rapper Estelle.

After this, Shawn got to tour with famous singers. He was an opening act for Kelly Rowland on her Simply Deeper Tour. An opening act is a performer who plays before the main artist. He also supported Beyoncé Knowles on the European part of her Dangerously in Love Tour. Shawn was also an opening act for Destiny's Child on their Destiny Fulfilled ... And Lovin' It tour.

Later, rapper Kanye West invited Shawn to join his Late Registration tour. Shawn toured with another artist named Keyshia Cole. He also toured with the Sugababes, Jagged Edge, and Missy Elliott.

The Dreamworld Album

In May 2004, Shawn Emanuel signed a big music deal with EMI. He planned to release five albums with them. His first album was going to be called "Dreamworld."

This album was recorded in an old-fashioned way, like the famous Motown music. They recorded his singing live onto tape, not using computers. This gave the music a special sound.

His first song from the album, "Slow it Down," came out on May 29, 2006. His second song, "U Better Believe it," was released on October 16, 2006. A famous sound engineer named Tom Elmhirst, who has won many Grammy Awards, mixed all the songs.

However, Shawn left EMI in 2007. Because of this, his "Dreamworld" album was never officially released.
