Shay Colley, born on January 6, 1996, is a talented Canadian professional basketball player. She currently plays for the Tango Bourges Basket team in the Ligue Féminine de Basketball (LFB) in France. Before becoming a professional, Shay played college basketball for the Michigan State Spartans.
Shay Colley's Early Life and School Basketball
Shay Colley was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. She grew up and went to St. Edmund Campion Secondary School in Brampton, Ontario.
During her time at St. Edmund Campion, Shay was a key player. She helped her team win two regional championships in 2010 and 2011. In 2014, she also won a gold medal at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Association (OFSAA) competition.
Shay Colley's College Basketball Journey
Shay started her college basketball career at the University of South Carolina. Later, in 2017, she transferred to Michigan State University. She sat out one year due to transfer rules before playing for the Michigan State Spartans.
In 2019, during her junior year, Shay was a standout player. She led her team in getting rebounds, which means she was great at grabbing the ball after a missed shot. She also scored the winning basket against Central Michigan in the first round of the NCAA tournament. This was a very exciting moment for her team!
