Sheilla Tavares de Castro, born on July 1, 1983, is a famous Brazilian volleyball player. She played for the Brazilian national team for many years. Sheilla helped her team win two gold medals at the Olympic Games in 2008 and 2012. She retired from playing volleyball on April 9, 2022.

Sheilla Castro played as an opposite spiker, a key attacking position in volleyball. She first joined the Brazilian national team in a match against Colombia.

Sheilla was named the "Most Valuable Player" (MVP) at the 2006 FIVB World Grand Prix in Italy. She also won this award at the 2009 FIVB World Grand Prix in Japan. Brazil won gold medals in both of these tournaments.

At the 2007 Pan American Games, Sheilla and her national team won a silver medal. Later, at the 2011 Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup, she was again named MVP. Her team also won the gold medal at this event.

Sheilla was part of the team that won gold at the 2011 Pan American Games in Mexico.

Playing for her club team, Sollys Nestlé Osasco, Sheilla won the gold medal at the 2012 FIVB Women's Club World Championship. She also earned the "Most Valuable Player" and "Best Scorer" awards there.

In 2013, Sheilla won the "Best Opposite" award with her national team at the 2013 Women's South American Volleyball Championship in Peru. Her club team, Molico Osasco, won a silver medal at the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship.

Sheilla and the Brazilian national team won a bronze medal at the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship. They beat Italy in a close match. She also won the "Best Opposite Spiker" award at the 2016 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix.

After the 2016 Summer Olympics, where Brazil finished fifth, Sheilla announced her retirement from the national team. However, in 2019, she decided to return. She played in the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup and the 2019 Women's South American Volleyball Championship.
