Sheldon Anthony Gomes (born October 18, 1950 – died September 15, 2020) was a talented cricketer from Trinidad and Tobago. He played a special kind of cricket called first-class and List A matches. Sheldon played for his home country and other teams in Trinidad from 1969 to 1983.

Sheldon Gomes was known for his strong batting skills. He was a right-handed batsman. He also bowled a little bit, using a right-arm medium-pace style.
Amazing Batting Moments
One of Sheldon's most impressive achievements was scoring 213 runs in a single first-class game. This happened against the Jamaica team during the 1976-77 Shell Shield tournament.
That season was his best ever! He scored a total of 633 runs. He also hit three "centuries," which means he scored 100 runs or more in three different games.

Sheldon Gomes came from a cricketing family. His brother, Larry Gomes, was also a famous cricketer. Larry even played Test cricket for the West Indies, which is the highest level of the sport.
