Sheree Bradford-Lea is a talented Canadian artist and cartoonist. She lives in Ottawa, Ontario, and creates many different kinds of art. She is known for her funny cartoons and her mixed-media artworks.

Sheree Bradford-Lea's Creative Journey
Becoming a Cartoonist and Writer
Sheree Bradford-Lea studied psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University. Since 1994, her cartoons and funny stories have been printed in many different magazines and newspapers. One of her first works was in a book called The Best Contemporary Women's Humor.
She had a regular cartoon strip called 'Life Outside the Box'. This strip appeared in Homebase: A Forum for Mothers from 1998 to 2003. It was also in Cahoots magazine from 2005 to 2011. Sheree also wrote funny articles for both of these publications.
She worked as an editorial cartoonist for The Winchester Press newspaper. She also drew cartoons for the online news site Blacklock's Reporter. Her cartoons have been printed in other magazines too, like Horizon Magazine, Herizons, and Hip Mama. A famous cartoonist, Randy Glasbergen, once said that getting a cartoon printed is like a comedian getting an audience to laugh. Getting it printed again is like a standing ovation!
Art Exhibitions and Helping Others
Since 2008, Sheree Bradford-Lea's artworks have been shown in art galleries in Ottawa. She often takes part in group exhibitions.
Sheree also uses her art to help others. She has created and given away artworks to raise money for good causes. These include Habitat for Humanity and The Canadian Stone Carving Festival. She even helped design a special chair for a charity campaign with her daughters, Zoë and Monica. You can also buy her art through her own company, SABL Cartoon Creations.
Plays and Performances
Sheree Bradford-Lea has also written for the stage. In 2013, a play she wrote, called The Devil Is in the Details, was performed by Flush Ink Productions. In the same year, a short play (a monologue) she wrote called I Am Supergirl was performed by Sarasvàti Theatre.
I Am Supergirl became very popular. People asked for more performances of it. It was even performed for groups like the United Nations Platform Action Committee.
In 2015, Sheree helped start a puppet group called Shanima Puppet Players. In 2016, this group received a special art grant. This grant allowed them to perform at an event called The Happening in Hintonburg.
Teaching and Leadership
Sheree Bradford-Lea is a leader in the art community. She is the vice president of the Capital Network of Sculptors. She also loves to teach. She gives classes and workshops on cartooning and other visual arts in Ottawa.
From 2009 to 2013, she was a professor at Algonquin College. She taught creative cartooning and illustration there. Sheree also gives talks and writes articles about cartooning.
