Sherman Falls is a beautiful waterfall located in Ancaster Heights. This area is part of western Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The waterfall is about 17 meters (56 feet) tall. It's called a "curtain waterfall" because the water spreads out widely as it falls, looking like a flowing curtain. The water for Sherman Falls comes from a stream called Ancaster Creek.
This waterfall has a few different names! People sometimes call it Smith's Falls or Whitton Falls. It's also known as Farah Falls, named after the family who owns the land where the waterfall is located.
There are many cool places to visit near Sherman Falls. You can explore the Dundas Valley Conservation Area or the Tiffany Falls Conservation Area. If you love hiking, the famous Bruce Trail passes very close by. Other interesting spots include the Iroquoia Heights Conservation Area, the old Hermitage ruins, Griffin House, and the Fieldcote Museum. You can also find places to eat and shops nearby.
Finding Sherman Falls
It's easy to find Sherman Falls! You can start your visit from Upper Lions Club Road at Old Dundas Road. From there, you can walk along the East side of Ancaster Creek. The waterfall is just a short walk away. It's also very close to the Bruce Trail in the Dundas Valley, making it a great stop for hikers.
