Shipman is in the southwestern part of Macoupin County. You can find it at these coordinates: 39°7′6″N 90°2′37″W / 39.11833°N 90.04361°W.
Roads and Nearby Towns
Illinois Route 16 runs through the southern part of the village. This road is also known as Railroad Street. If you go east on Route 16, you'll reach Gillespie in about 13 miles. Going west for about 15 miles will take you to Jerseyville. Carlinville, which is the main town of Macoupin County, is about 15 miles northeast of Shipman by local roads.
