Where is Shoal Point?
Shoal Point is found right on the coast. It has a special landform called a headland at its north-east side. A headland is a piece of land that sticks out into the sea. Imagine a nose on a face, but for the land! This headland gives Shoal Point its unique shape and name.
The suburb is surrounded by the sparkling Coral Sea to the north, northeast, and northwest. To the south and southeast, you'll find the suburb of Bucasia. To the west and southwest, it borders Habana.
What Can You Do in Shoal Point?
Even though it's a smaller suburb, Shoal Point offers some handy services for its residents. The Mackay Regional Council helps out by running a special mobile library service.
This library on wheels visits O'Brien Esplanade every two weeks. It's a great way for everyone in the community to borrow books and learn new things. It brings the joy of reading right to your doorstep!
