The Shoreham Aircraft Museum is a special place in the village of Shoreham, near Sevenoaks in Kent, England. It's located on the edge of Greater London. Volunteers started this museum in 1978. It honors the brave airmen who fought in the skies over southern England during World War II.

Discovering Aviation History
This museum is like a treasure chest of aviation history. It holds many items found from crashed airplanes. These items, called relics, were dug up by a group called the Shoreham Aircraft Preservation Society over 30 years.
What You Can See
The museum displays parts from both RAF (British) and Luftwaffe (German) planes that crashed. You can also read personal stories from the people involved in these events. The museum especially focuses on the Battle of Britain. This was a very important air battle during World War II.

The museum also has collections of flying helmets, uniforms, and badges (insignia). There are also items from the Home Front. The Home Front refers to what life was like for people at home during the war. You can also see photos and other items. Many of these have been given by former pilots and other people.
The museum also has original paintings and prints. These are by a talented aviation artist named Geoff Nutkins. You can find more of his work in other famous places. These include the RAF College in Cranwell and the Royal Air Force Museum in Hendon.

Opening Hours
The museum is open from 10 AM to 5 PM. It is open on Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holiday Mondays. This is from Easter until the end of October each year. The tearoom and garden are also open on Saturdays. You can enter them for free.
Free Entry
All current and former military service members can enter the museum for free.
