Shoukry Sarhan (born Mohamed Shoukry El Husseiny Sarhan, 1925–1997) was a famous Egyptian actor. Many people think he was one of the greatest actors in Egyptian cinema history. He starred in many popular movies.

Early Life and Acting Career
Shoukry Sarhan was born in El Sharqiya, Egypt, on March 12, 1925. He loved acting and studied at the High Institute of Acting in Egypt. He finished his studies in 1947.
First Steps in Film
Sarhan started his movie career in 1949. His first film was called Lahalibo. He became very famous in 1951. This happened when a well-known Egyptian film director, Youssef Chahine, chose him for a main role. The movie was named Son of the Nile.
Becoming a Star
Shoukry Sarhan starred in many important films. In 1957, he was in Return My Heart, directed by Ezz El-Dine Zulficar. Other famous movies included The Unknown Woman and Chased by the Dogs. He was often called "The young man of the screen" because of his popular roles.
Awards and Recognition
Shoukry Sarhan received many awards during his acting career. He was honored by President Gamal Abdel Nasser. He received the Order of the Republic, a very important award in Egypt.
Best Actor Award
In 1984, Sarhan won a Best Actor award. This was for his main role in the movie Lelt El qabd 'Ala Fatema. He starred alongside the famous actress Faten Hamama in this film. It was directed by Henry Barakat.
Actor of the Century
When Egyptian cinema celebrated its 100th birthday, critics chose Shoukry Sarhan as the best actor of the century. He acted in more films than any other actor on the list of "The Greatest 100 Egyptian films". This shows how important he was to Egyptian movies.
Later Years
Shoukry Sarhan's last movie was El-Gablawi, which came out in 1991. He passed away in 1997, leaving behind a great legacy in Egyptian cinema.
