The History of Sickletown

Sickletown got its name from the Sickles family, who lived there a long time ago. They settled along Sickletown Road, which was also named after them. You can still see some of their old homes today. These houses are made of sandstone and were built before the American Revolutionary War.

In the early 1870s, the nearby area of Pearl River was divided into five smaller sections. Sickletown was one of these parts. The other sections were called Nauraushaun, Middletown, Pascack, and Muddy Brook.
