Sidney Wallace Morrison, born on May 13, 1933, is an American farmer and politician. He was a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1981 to 1993. A member of the Republican Party, Morrison also served in the Washington State Legislature. Later, he became the Secretary of the Washington State Department of Transportation. He worked under Governors Mike Lowry and Gary Locke.

Early Life and School
Sid Morrison was born in Yakima, Washington. He went to public schools in Toppenish, Washington. In 1951, he started college at Yakima Valley College.
He graduated from Washington State University in Pullman in 1954. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree there. Sid Morrison also served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956.
Sid Morrison's Career
After leaving the Army, Sid Morrison worked in his family's business. They distributed fruit. This experience helped him understand the needs of his community.
Serving in the State Legislature
From 1966 to 1974, Morrison was a member of the Washington House of Representatives. He represented the 15th District. After that, he served the same district in the Washington Senate from 1974 to 1980.
Working in the U.S. Congress
In 1980, Sid Morrison was elected to the 97th United States Congress. He became a member of important committees in the House of Representatives. These included the Energy and Agriculture Committees.
He represented Washington's 4th congressional district for six terms. This was from 1981 to 1993. In 1992, Morrison ran to become governor of Washington. He did not win the primary election.
Leading Transportation in Washington
In early 1993, Governor Mike Lowry chose Sid Morrison for a new role. He became the Secretary of the Washington State Department of Transportation. He held this important position until 2001.
After his time as Secretary, Morrison continued to be involved in public service. He became the chair of the Mainstream Republicans of Washington. This group works to support centrist political ideas. In 2005, he was appointed to the Board of Trustees for Central Washington University.
Personal Life
As of 2007, Sid Morrison lived in Zillah, Washington.
