Silver Lake Creek (which is called ruisseau du lac Silver in French) is a small stream, like a tiny river. It is located in a beautiful area called Tay Valley in Lanark County, Ontario, Canada. This creek starts at Silver Lake and flows into the Fall River. It is part of a bigger water system called the Ottawa River drainage basin. This means all its water eventually flows into the Ottawa River.

The Creek's Journey

Silver Lake Creek starts its journey at Silver Lake. The lake is about 178 metres (584 ft) (or 584 feet) above sea level. At this point, the creek is inside Silver Lake Provincial Park. This park is a great place for camping and enjoying nature.

The creek then flows south, leaving the provincial park. After a short distance, it turns to the southeast. It passes under Ontario Highway 7, which is a major road. Finally, Silver Lake Creek reaches its end, flowing into the Fall River. This meeting point is about 177 metres (581 ft) (or 581 feet) above sea level.

Where the Water Goes Next

The water from Silver Lake Creek joins the Fall River. The Fall River then flows into the Mississippi River. This Mississippi River is not the famous one in the United States. It is a different river located in Ontario.

The Ontario Mississippi River then flows into Lac des Chats. This is a lake that is part of the Ottawa River. So, all the water from Silver Lake Creek eventually makes its way to the Ottawa River. The Ottawa River is a very important river in Canada.
