Getting Drafted

In 2018, the New York Mets picked Simeon in the second round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft. He was the 48th player chosen overall. This meant he could start his professional baseball career.

Playing in the Pros

Starting with the Mets

Simeon began his professional journey with the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Mets. He later moved up to the Rookie Advanced Kingsport Mets. He had a great start, winning one game and not losing any. His earned run average (ERA) was very low at 1.56, and he got 26 strikeouts in 17.1 innings pitched.

In 2019, he started with the Class-A Columbia Fireflies. In July 2019, he was promoted to the Advanced-A St. Lucie Mets.

Moving to the Blue Jays

Before Simeon could play for St. Lucie, he was traded. The Mets sent him and another player, Anthony Kay, to the Toronto Blue Jays. In return, the Mets got Marcus Stroman.

The Blue Jays assigned Simeon to their Advanced-A team, the Dunedin Blue Jays. Between his time with Columbia and Dunedin in 2019, he pitched in 26 games. He had 6 wins and 10 losses, with a 3.80 ERA. He also recorded 126 strikeouts in 106.2 innings. In 2021, he started the season with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, a Double-A team.

Joining the Minnesota Twins

On July 30, 2021, Simeon was traded again. He went to the Minnesota Twins along with Austin Martin. The Twins sent José Berríos to the Blue Jays in this trade.

Simeon was assigned to the Wichita Wind Surge, a Double-A team. In 2021, playing for both teams, he had 3 wins and 5 losses. His ERA was 5.91, with 77 strikeouts. He started the 2022 season back with Wichita. In August, the Twins promoted him to the St. Paul Saints, their Triple-A team.

Simeon started the 2023 season back in Triple-A with the St. Paul Saints. He played in one game for the Twins, giving up five runs in 4.2 innings. He was again sent to Triple-A St. Paul to begin the 2024 season.
