Simon Maxwell Helberg (born December 9, 1980) is an American actor and comedian. He is well-known for his role as Howard Wolowitz in the popular TV show The Big Bang Theory. This show aired from 2007 to 2019. For his work on the show, he won the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
Simon Helberg also played Cosmé McMoon in the 2016 movie Florence Foster Jenkins. His performance in this film earned him a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture. He has also appeared in other films like Old School (2003) and Annette (2021).

Early Life and Education
Simon Helberg was born in Los Angeles, California, on December 9, 1980. His father, Sandy Helberg, is an actor, and his mother, Harriet Helberg, is a casting director. Simon grew up in a Jewish family.
He went to the Crossroads School in Santa Monica, California. There, he became friends with Jason Ritter, who later became his college roommate. Simon then studied at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. He trained in acting at the Atlantic Theater Company.

Simon Helberg began his career in the early 2000s. He performed with comedian Derek Waters as a comedy duo called Derek & Simon. They even created a web series together called Derek and Simon: The Show in 2007.

In 2016, Simon Helberg starred in the movie Florence Foster Jenkins. He played Cosmé McMoon, a pianist, alongside famous actors Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant. Personal Life
Simon Helberg married actress Jocelyn Towne on July 7, 2007. Jocelyn is the niece of screenwriter Robert Towne. Simon and Jocelyn have two children, a daughter and a son.
Simon has been good friends with actor Jason Ritter since they were 12 years old. They even went to college together. He is also friends with Nathan Hamill, who is the son of actor Mark Hamill.
Through his wife Jocelyn, who has French citizenship, Simon Helberg also became a French citizen. This helped him get a role in the French director Leos Carax's film Annette.
