The Story of Sinbad's Adventures
Stranded on a Strange Island
The brave sailor Sinbad and his loyal helper Habeeb are on Captain Aziz's ship. Sinbad had used all his father's money for this trip. They see an island that is not on any map. Sinbad tells the Captain to go closer. He hopes the island has lots of treasure. Sinbad, Habeeb, and two other sailors take a small boat to the island. It looks very strange. It is flat and empty, with no grass, trees, or sand.
Suddenly, the island starts to shake a lot! The two other sailors quickly go back to Captain Aziz's ship. They leave Sinbad and Habeeb behind. The "island" turns out to be the fin of a giant sea monster! The monster swims away. Captain Aziz's ship also leaves. This leaves Sinbad and Habeeb all alone in the middle of the ocean.
Meeting King Jamaal
The next morning, Sinbad and Habeeb find they have floated to a new island. They find fresh water, food, and horses. This means people must live there. Sinbad and Habeeb soon meet two men dressed in foreign clothes. These men are the sons of King Jamaal. He is the ruler of the island of Salabat. The King's sons welcome Sinbad and Habeeb. They take them to their father's palace.
King Jamaal is happy to see Sinbad and Habeeb. He loves hearing about Sinbad's many adventures. The King then asks Sinbad to marry his daughter, Nefia. Sinbad agrees, but he does not really want to.
An Escape Plan Gone Wrong
That night, Sinbad tells Habeeb he does not want to marry the King's daughter. He plans to leave the island to avoid his promise. Luckily, Captain Aziz's ship has come to the island. Sinbad talks to the Captain, who is happy to see him. The Captain agrees to help Sinbad escape.
Habeeb and Sinbad sneak out of the castle. They hide inside crates that are supposed to be gifts for Captain Aziz from King Jamaal. Their trick works! But after Captain Aziz leaves the island, King Jamaal's ships attack them. King Jamaal captures Sinbad and Habeeb. As punishment, he leaves them on another island.
