Norris Jones, known to many as Sirone (born September 28, 1940 – died October 21, 2009), was an American jazz musician. He was famous for playing the double bass and for writing music.

About Sirone
Sirone was born in Atlanta, Georgia. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, he played music there with a group called "The Group." He also worked with famous R&B artists like Sam Cooke and Smokey Robinson.
In 1966, Sirone moved to New York City. He started a group called the "Untraditional Jazz Improvisational Team" with Dave Burrell. He also played with many other important jazz musicians. These included Marion Brown, Gato Barbieri, Pharoah Sanders, and Albert Ayler. He even played with John Coltrane near the end of Coltrane's life.
In 1971, Sirone helped create a band called the Revolutionary Ensemble. He formed it with Leroy Jenkins and Frank Clayton. Later, Jerome Cooper joined the group. This band was very active for most of the 1970s. During this time, Sirone also recorded with other jazz greats like Cecil Taylor.
In the 1980s, Sirone was part of a group called Phalanx. This band included guitarist James "Blood" Ulmer and saxophonist George Adams.
From 1989, Sirone lived in Berlin, Germany. There, he played with his own group called 'Concord'. He also worked in theater and film. Sirone passed away on October 21, 2009, when he was 69 years old.
