Sky Plaza (also known as The Plaza Tower) is a very tall building in Leeds, England. It has 37 floors and is mainly used for student apartments. It's located in an area called Arena Quarter. This building is part of a bigger project in Leeds city centre and has 572 apartments for students.

Sky Plaza is one of the tallest buildings for student housing in the world! It's the second tallest, right after a building in Manchester. Even though it's not the absolute tallest building in Leeds, its roof is the highest point in the city centre. This is because it's built on high ground. You can actually see Sky Plaza from as far as 25 miles (40 km) away! At night, it's easy to spot because of its flashing aircraft warning light.

Building Sky Plaza

The idea for Sky Plaza started with a plan for a 26-storey building. But then, the design was changed to make it much taller, with 37 floors! The company that designed it was Carey Jones Architects. The main company that built it was Shepherd Construction. Construction work on Sky Plaza began in 2007 and finished in 2009.

Who Lives at Sky Plaza?

Sky Plaza is mostly home to students. Many students from the University of Leeds, Leeds Beckett University, and the Leeds College of Music choose to live there. The apartments at Sky Plaza are known for being some of the most expensive student homes in Leeds.
