Slate Run is a small stream, about 7.3-mile-long (11.7 km), located in Pennsylvania, United States. It flows into a larger stream called Pine Creek. You can find Slate Run in both Tioga County and Lycoming County.

About Slate Run
Slate Run begins where two smaller streams, the Francis Branch and the Cushman Branch, meet. This meeting point is called a confluence. From there, Slate Run flows generally towards the southeast until it joins Pine Creek in a community also named Slate Run.
Where Slate Run Flows
The first part of Slate Run, about 0.5 miles (0.8 km), is located in the Tioga State Forest in Tioga County. The rest of the stream flows through the Tiadaghton State Forest in Lycoming County.
Streams Joining Slate Run
Several smaller streams flow into Slate Run. These are called tributaries.
- From the left side (if you're looking downstream), Morris Run and Red Run join Slate Run.
- From the right side, Manor Fork flows into Slate Run.
Fish and Fishing
Slate Run is a very popular place for fishing. It is known for its wild brook and brown trout.
Fishing Rules
If you like to fish, you can fish in Slate Run all year round. However, there are special rules to protect the fish:
- You can only use fly fishing methods.
- Your fishing hooks must be barbless. This means the hook doesn't have a small point that makes it harder for the fish to get away.
- You must release all the trout you catch back into the stream. This helps keep the fish population healthy.
