Tegan Joshua Anthony Chambers (born December 20, 1999), known as Sleepy Hallow, is a rapper and songwriter. He was born in Jamaica and grew up in Brooklyn, New York City. Sleepy Hallow is known for his style of music called Brooklyn drill.
In 2019, he joined Winners Circle Entertainment. The next year, this label partnered with RCA Records. Sleepy Hallow first became well-known for his 2019 song, "Flows," which he made with his friend Sheff G. His 2020 song, "Deep End Freestyle" (with Fousheé), became very popular. It was certified platinum and was his first song to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In 2021, his song "2055" also reached number 51 on the chart.
Early Life and Music Beginnings
Tegan Chambers moved from Jamaica to Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York City, when he was a child. He started rapping around the age of 12. He chose the name "Sleepy Hallow" because it was his nickname.
Chambers left school in the ninth grade. He met his friend and music partner, Sheff G, when they were about to have a fight. However, they stopped when Sheff G was impressed by how Chambers acted.
Sleepy Hallow's Music Career
From 2017 to 2018, Sleepy Hallow, Sheff G, and DizzyGotBands were signed to Nula Entertainment. This record label was owned by former NFL player Junior Galette.
In 2019, Sleepy Hallow released his first mixtape, Don't Sleep. In the same year, Winners Circle Entertainment was started, and Sleepy Hallow was one of the first artists to join.
In 2020, he released his second mixtape, Sleepy for President. This mixtape included the popular song "Deep End Freestyle" featuring Fousheé. This song reached number 80 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in June 2020. The song has been streamed over 85 million times and was certified gold in August 2020.
In August 2020, Winners Circle Entertainment began working with RCA Records. Sleepy Hallow and Sheff G then released the song "Tip Toe."
In June 2021, Sleepy Hallow released his first studio album, Still Sleep?. This album features the song "2055." The music video for "2055" shows an animated Sleepy Hallow in a future world. This song was certified double platinum in March 2022.
In May 2022, he released his song "Die Young," which features Canadian rapper 347aidan. This song was very popular on Instagram.
In September 2022, he released the song "2 Mins of Pain." In November 2022, he released "Marie."
On September 15, 2023, Sleepy Hallow released his second studio album, “Boy Meets World." This album includes songs like "GBG" featuring Marshmello and "Anxiety" featuring Doechii.
More recently, on February 14, 2024, Sleepy Hallow released the song "Cupid's Guidance." On May 8, 2024, he released another song called "Winners In Paris."
